The NSMoH was created to showcase the long history of the area from ancient fossils to businesses of today... Admission is by donation. The Southeast Volusia Historical Society was organized in 1982, as a not for profit organization, to promote a formal means by which individuals interested in historical studies in the Southeast Volusia Area may congregate for their mutual benefit; to promote the continuing study of the cultures of the Southeast Volusia area from ancient time to present and to bring to the attention of the general public and appropriate governmental agencies the continuing importance of preserving historical sites within Southeast Volusia County. The Southeast Volusia Historical Society operates the New Smyrna Museum of History.
