Event Details
Spooktacular is two nights worth of scary good fun. Friday night (PG-13) is designed for teens and adults and the second night is for the entire family including children. Friday, will feature tours of a dark, creepy and of course, haunted, trail; hayrides and then “guard your brains” as you enter the zombies’ Walking Dead Warehouse. These scary favorites feature over 200 actors and actresses in full costume in a variety of scenes and scares. Please remember the trail and warehouse attractions are not suitable for young children.
On Saturday, in addition to the “haunted” venues, there’s plenty of family fun with inflatables, treats, a pie-eating contest and everyone’s favorite the annual Spooktacular costume contest. The contest begins at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday with the smallest spooks going first. There are five categories (age 3 and under, ages 4-7, ages 8-12, age 13 and up and then the family category).
On both nights, DJ Madd Soundz will spin all the spooky classics from the main stage, so be ready with your Thriller and killer moves. Everything at Spooktacular is free. Each year, staff from many departments of the City of Deltona and numerous volunteers, work hard setting up the park,, decorating, working the event and cleaning up. Deltona Parks & Recreation is still in need of volunteers ages 15 and older. To volunteer, email Marlene Brown, MBrown@DeltonaFL.gov or call (386) 878-8900.
Traffic will be heavy around the park and motorists are encouraged to use caution and to watch for pedestrians. Carpooling is always appreciated. During the event, on both nights, cars exiting the park will only be permitted a right turn onto Saxon Boulevard.
