About Orange City
Located in Volusia county in the northern portion of the state is Orange City Florida. This small city only has about 7,100 residents. Despite it's small size, this city has quite a lot to offer to those who visit the area. Orange City is rich with history and has a few sites listed on the National Register of Historic Places, including Dickinson Memorial Library and Park, and the Louis P. Thursby House. Along with these historic sites, Orange City offers fun for everyone. The Blue Spring State Park is a wonderful place to enjoy the outdoors. The park has several areas to have a picnic and has barbecue areas to take advantage of. Camping is allowed as there are campsites to pitch tents, making the park great for a family weekend getaway. There are areas to swim and there are also hiking trails for people looking for a scenic walk. De Leon Spring State Recreation Area is another great outdoor area. It is situated on the eastern side of Lake Woodruff and has various restaurants in the area as well as picnic spots. This recreation area offers swimming in crystal clear waters in a swimming hole. The trees are laced with Spanish Moss to give this area a unique look.
